We have check-ups in all parts of our life; health, vision, dental, car maintenance, to name a few. I believe it is equally important to do so with our finances. I offer both a Post-Retirement and Pre-Retirement check-ups.
Both check-ups cover all areas of financial planning, however, they emphasize specific questions or concerns related to either Post or Pre Retirement. You can also add questions or concerns to the check-list.
Common Post-Retirement questions include: Will I/our income last throughout retirement? Does my/our investment strategy meet my/our long-term income objectives? What are options to increase my/our income or decrease my/our expenses? Do my estate plans and beneficiary designations reflect my estate objectives? Am I/us prepared for future health issues and are there options or strategies I/us should consider?
Common Pre-Retirement questions include: When can I/we retire and how much income will I/we need? What are my/our sources of retirement income? Will my/our investment strategy enable me/us to accumulate the necessary funds to retire comfortably and what other options or strategies are available to me? How do I/we balance retirement with other financial objectives such as the education of a child or a different residence? Have I adequately addressed risk management issues? Do my estate plan and beneficiary designations reflect my estate objectives? Am I/us prepared for future health issues and are there options or strategies I/us should consider?
Upon request, I send you a check-list along with necessary client engagement forms. After you have reviewed check-list and client engagement forms, we schedule an initial phone conference at which time we review the check-list including any additions you wish to make along with client engagement forms. Upon the return of all the forms, we schedule a meeting or second phone conference.
